Dangerous structures

A dangerous structure is classed as any building or structure which may cause harm to a member of the public. This may include loose roof tiles, unstable garden walls or a building that has been damaged by storms, vehicle collision or fire.

If you think a building or structure in North Hertfordshire is dangerous, please contact Hertfordshire Building Control as soon as possible. For out of hours emergencies, please contact the council's out of hours number.

For dangerous practices or workplaces (e.g. building works being undertaken without necessary scaffolding, or factories without necessary fire escapes) please refer to the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).
