Abandoned Shopping and Luggage Trolleys

These anti-social practices can be dangerous, cost money to sort out and contribute to making the environment less attractive for everyone.
Recent amendments to the Environmental Protection Act 1990 mean that North Hertfordshire District Council can now reclaim costs from stores for the collection and disposal of abandoned trolleys if collected by the Council.
If you wish to report an abandoned shopping trolley, please telephone the registered relevant store below:

Registered stores will collect abandoned trolleys within 48 hours of notification.
If the store is not registered with us, please contact the Enforcement Team.
Please contact the Enforcement team if you are a store who would like to register with the abandoned shopping trolley collection scheme. Please note that we would require a telephone number which we could publicise on the web page. Failure to collect the trolley within 48 hours of notification will result in the Council collecting it and reclaiming costs for the collection and disposal of the trolley. North Hertfordshire District Council can sell trolleys as well.
