Hitchin Churchgate Development: North Herts District Council (Thursday 25 February 2010) voted to award the contract for the redevelopment of the Churchgate Shopping Centre and surrounding area in Hitchin to Simons Developments Limited. In line with the Public Contract Regulations the Council now enters a mandatory standstill period, at the conclusion of which the contract will be signed. Further details on the next steps to be taken on the project will be provided when the contract is signed, which is anticipated to be mid-March 2010.
