How to complain about a councillor
The Standards Board for England was established in March 2001 to look at the ethical behaviour of members who serve on local authorities, parish councils, fire and civil defence authorities and the Greater London Authority. The organisation deals with complaints and breaches of the local Code of Conduct. The Standards board only deals with councillors, members or co-opted members who serve on a range of authorities, not the staff who work in those authorities, (issues of corporate maladministration are dealt with by the Local Government Ombudsman). Advice on ethical behaviour to members serving on those authorities is also available. For more information on the Standards Board, please see the contact details below. | ![]() |
