Postal Voting and Voting by Proxy

Postal Voting

To arrange to vote by post when there is an election you will need to send your application form to the Electoral Registration Office at least 11 working days before the election.

You can apply for a postal vote as a one-off, for a specified period (eg. one year) or permanently (until you tell us otherwise).

On 1st January 2007 the regulations around postal voting changed.  The Council are now required to capture your signature and your date of birth when you apply for a postal vote.  These will then be used as a security check when you return your postal vote at election time.

If you require a postal vote for any forthcoming elections, please download the new form below.

On 1 May 2008, 15 Ward Councillors will be up for re-election.

Don’t lose your right to vote - register by 16 April 2008.
