Warning and Informing

Hertfordshire is a safe place to live, but disasters can occur, usually with little or no warning.  Many different agencies will be involved in the response to a disaster, as many skills and resources will be needed.

Local authorities, together with the Emergency Services, are experienced in responding to incidents and work together to ensure we are ready for any incident.

North Hertfordshire District Council is committed to providing information and advice to our residents about any potential emergency.

Further information on the role of North Hertfordshire District Council during an emergency can be found on our Emergency Planning web pages.

A booklet has been produced to provide some general information and guidance on specific risks and how you can prepare in advance to help minimise the impact of an emergency should the unexpected happen.  The booklet is available from the Council Offices at Gernon Road and can be downloaded as a pdf file below along with suggested templates for a Household Emergency Plan and Car and Household Emergency Kits.
