Growing your business and growth initiatives

Growing businesses and the economy is a key priority of the Coalition Government. It is also very important to the local authority as we want to ensure that jobs are kept locally to support sustainable patterns of development and to support future housing growth.

Most job growth is likely to come from within existing businesses in the district. The district council is therefore committed to helping local businesses grow in a sustainable manner and will seek to provide support and guidance wherever possible.

A number of initiatives are being implemented, providing funding and opportunities to grow your business:

Nationally the government has launched "Coaching for Growth":

To the east and south of the district, working jointly with East Herts and Uttlesford District Council, is the Eastern Plateau Project:
