Street Trading, Street Collections and House to House Collections
North Hertfordshire District Council act as the licensing authority for the District in respect of consents, permits and licenses under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982, Section 5 of the Police, Factories etc (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1916, and House to House Collection Act 1939.
One of the many legal responsibilities that a local authority has, is a responsibility to consider applications made by persons wanting to trade or collect within the local authority area.
In connection with this responsibility, North Hertfordshire District Council proposes that this policy will encompass all elements of street trading, street collection and house to house licensing and permissions and therefore assist applicants, the local authority and all other parties.

The consultation period will commence on Monday 7th June 2010 and will continue for 12 weeks, ending at midnight on Monday 30th August 2010.
This is your opportunity to raise any issues you may have and contribute to the formation of the Council's Street Trading, Street Collection and House to House Collection policies.
All responses during the consultation will be considered and incorporated into the Policy where appropriate. A summary of all responses will be included in the Report to Elected Members during the Committee process. The final Policy will be determined by the Elected Members.
