Temporary Event Notices
Under the Licensing Act 2003 certain temporary events, which include licensable activities, are permitted under the Act if they are notified to the Licensing Authority at North Hertfordshire District Council (NHDC), NHDC Environmental Health and Hertfordshire Constabulary, by the giving of a Temporary Event Notice (59.4kb)(a "TEN")
in the prescribed format and within the prescribed timescales.
An applicant will need to complete the application form and submit two (2) copies and payment of £21.00 per event, cheques payable to North Hertfordshire District Council, no later than 10 clear working days before the event. The 10 days does not include the day of receipt and the day of the actual event, nor does it include a Saturday, Sunday or a Public Holiday.
A limited number of applications will also be allowed each year where only 5 working days notice has been given and these are deemed 'Late Applications'. However, in these circumstances any representation made against a late application would result in an automatic refusal.
