Giving up your Taxi Licence
If you no longer wish to be a licensed driver or own a licensed vehicle you should write to the Council at the address at the bottom of the web page advising that you wish to surrender the licence. The paper licence, driver's badge and/or vehicle plate should be returned with the letter. A licensed vehicle remains a licensed vehicle at all times until the licence expires or is surrendered and so can only be driven by a licensed driver and must comply with all requirements of the Policy, including being smoke-free. Once the vehicle licence is surrendered and returned, the vehicle reverts to being a private vehicle.
