Community Centres
Within North Hertfordshire there are ten Community Centres spread across the district, each situated within easy reach of local shopping areas and the communities that they serve. All of the facilities are operated under lease from North Hertfordshire District Council (NHDC) by local voluntary organisations, to whom the Council provides ongoing support.
The facilities all provide for the social requirements of the local and wider communities of North Herts. and act as focal points for community activities providing a wide range of leisure, entertainment and educational services to residents of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
These facilities are available for hire, for a wide and diverse range of uses both by regular hirers such as Judo, Parent and Toddler, Badminton clubs /groups, as well as being available for hire for private functions such as wedding receptions and birthday parties etc. thus ensuring their sustainability though income generation. They also act as local political venues for the staging of local and national elections, and provide local community surgeries etc.
