Archaeological Reports

From 1989, the Archaeological Service produced a number of reports as a result of commercial projects undertaken by its field team, all under the editorship of Gil Burleigh, then Keeper of Field Archaeology.  Although the field team was disbanded in 1994, reducing the need for more reports, a small number were published up to January 2000, when a summary of the previous ten years' work was produced.

From April 2008, reports are again being produced by the Archaeological Service, now under the editorship of Keith Fitzpatrick-Matthews. Both sets are being made available as Adobe Acrobat files to download from this page.

Archive reports

Before 1989, reports were not disseminated as 'grey literature' of the type linked above. Instead, typescript reports were deposited on file for consultation by researchers. After 1989, some reports were also dealt with in this way. It has been felt appropriate also to make these reports available as downloads.
