Archaeology Walks

The Archaeology Officer arranges walks around places of interest in North Hertfordshire, both in the rural areas and in the historic towns.  Each walk is desined to last between an hour and a half and an afternoon.  Groups of up to fifteen can be accommodated; for adults, all walks will include a refreshment break at a pleasant public house, while for children, other types of refreshment can be arranged.

Dates of upcoming walks will be advertised at Letchworth and Hitchin Museums and on the website.

Talks

The Archaeology Officer can be booked to give talks to schools, community groups and other interested bodies.  Subjects include topics to do with the archaeology of North Hertfordshire (including Ancient Baldock) and more general archaeological themes, including Ancient Egypt, Roman Civilisation, British prehistory and Archaeology and UFOs.

The standard cost is £25 for groups under 15 or £30 for more than 15; if hosted at one of the museums, the cost is £35, which includes a fee for hire of the room.

If you would like to discuss a particular subject or to book a talk, please contact
