Latchmore Collection
The Latchmore collection's earliest images date from Thomas's experimentation with the calotype and daguerreotype processes.
A calotype image, comprising only the paper negative, shows us a building known as The Croft in Bancroft, in a state probably before Charles Prime bought it in 1859 and largely rebuilt it, but it is not possible to put any more precise date upon it.
This is a modern print from the original calotype negative.
