Sports Grants for Talented Individuals and Coaches
North Hertfordshire District Council is committed to supporting talented sporting individuals and coaches. Each year, a dedicated fund provides grant assistance to North Hertfordshire residents. This is administered through Sport North Herts, a Community Sports Network representing statutory, private and community organisations dedicated to delivering and developing sport.
Applications for Sports Grants for Talented Young Individuals and Coaches are now open and close on Friday 11th December 2009. administered twice per year.
- Before applying please carefully read the

welcome letter (25.9KB) (opens in a new window). - If you are a young athlete competing at regional level or above complete the
athletes application form.(130KB) (opens in a new window). - If you are a coach please complete the
coaches application form (130KB) (opens in a new window).
All completed applications must be sent to: Helen Turner, Children & Young Persons Development Manager, North Herts District Council, Letchworth Garden City, Herts, SG6 3JF. Any applications received after Friday 11th December 2009 will not be passed to the grants panel.
Grants for Sports Clubs and Organisations
Sports clubs and organisations can apply for funding for specific projects from the North Hertfordshire District Council Area Committee Grants. Clubs may also be to apply for grants to cover qualifications if it is for the benefit of the club. For more information visit the Area Committee Grants page.
Passport for Excellence
As part of our commitment to supporting local talented athletes and sports people, we offer free use of the North Herts Leisure Centre, Hitchin Swim Centre and Archers or Royston Leisure Centre to anyone that represents the East of England region, or England, N Ireland, Scotland, Wales or Britain in a sport recognised by Sport England. You must be a permanent resident in North Hertfordshire and have resided in the District for a minimum of 6 months.
A Passport for Excellence is valid for one financial year (April to March) and we issue up to 15 each year at each facility.
