Sports Grants for Talented Individuals and Coaches
North Hertfordshire District Council is committed to supporting talented sporting individuals and coaches. Each year, a dedicated fund provides grant assistance to North Hertfordshire residents. This is administered through Sport North Herts, a Community Sports Network representing statutory, private and community organisations dedicated to delivering and developing sport.
Sports Grants for Talented Individuals and Coaches are administered twice per year. The next panel meets in June 2009. Applications will open on Monday 11th May and close at 12pm on Friday 19th June 2009. Please do not apply before this date.
To apply after the opening date you will need to fill in either an
athletes grant application form (76.27 kb)or a
coaches grant application (76.49 kb)form and return them to the address at the bottom of the downloaded form.
Make sure you look at the
Sports Grants criteria (72.51 kb)to determine whether or not you are eligible. Please note this is a new criteria from previous rounds.

Grants for Sports Clubs and Organisations
Sports clubs and organisations can apply for funding for specific projects from the North Hertfordshire District Council Area Committee Grants. Clubs may also be to apply for grants to cover qualifications if it is for the benefit of the club. For more information visit the Area Committee Grants page.
Passport for Excellence
As part of our commitment to supporting local talented athletes and sports people, we offer free use of the North Herts Leisure Centre, Hitchin Swim Centre and Archers or Royston Leisure Centre to anyone that represents the East of England region, or England, N Ireland, Scotland, Wales or Britain in a sport recognised by Sport England. You must be a permanent resident in North Hertfordshire and have resided in the District for a minimum of 6 months.
A Passport for Excellence is valid for one financial year (April to March) and we issue up to 15 each year at each facility.
