Greenhouse Gas emissions from local authority owned estate and operations
On 9 March 2011 the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Local Government Group that recognised the pivotal role that local councils have in tackling climate change.
To support the principles of the MOU local councils measure and report their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from their own estate and operations annually.
This report details GHG emissions data from 1 April 2008 to 31 March 2011
Climate Change Strategy
The District Council has developed a Climate Change Strategy. It was launched at the Annual Community Conference in 2009.
