Entertainment Noise

Under the new Licensing Act 2003, licensed premises must consider the impact of their activities and times of opening on local communities. This includes noise from entertainment such as music, recorded and live bands.

A key feature of the new licensing regime is to:

  • allow local communities a say in licensing decisions that affect them
  • to ensure that professionals such as the police, fire authorities, trading standards and environmental health officers are able to scrutinise applications and take action if problems occur.

Further information about entertainment licensing can be found in the licensing section of the website.

Please refer to the 'Frequently Asked Questions' sheet for further information about noise control within licenced premises.
