Noise Issues Outside Office Hours

We know that noise problems can occur at any time of the day or night and at weekends. Complaints about such noise problems outside normal hours are still investigated by our Environmental Protection Team and if necessary programmed ‘out of hours’ visits will be arranged to try to assess the problem.

In addition, the Environmental Health Team operates a Noise Call Out Service from the 1st April to the 30th September inclusive between 8.00pm and 3.00am on Friday and Saturday nights. This service is intended to provide a response to problems that are causing a widespread noise problem in a local community such as:

  • domestic parties
  • licensed premises
  • misfiring car and burglar alarms

We may vary the operating hours for the service depending on seasonal demands or local events that are occurring. This may include providing extra cover on Sunday night over bank holiday weekends.
