Personal Search Guidelines

A personal search is an inspection of the Local Land Charges Register and can be carried out by anyone. This allows you or your agent to search the local land charges register and other statutory registers (including the planning history of the property).

Appointments are given and an extract of the Local Land Charges Register will be ready for collection. Further information is provided in the ‘access guide to the local land charges register' and the Con29 questions fee.

Please note that a personal search does not provide all the information given on a full (LLC1 and Con 29) search. The Council cannot guarantee information obtained by a personal search.

It is the responsibility of the person carrying out the personal search to identify the land/property and to make any note of information held on the register.

The Council does not have an obligation to answer any supplementary enquiries when a person is making a personal search.

CON 29R Individual Questions: These may be requested by completing a CON29R Request Form and sending this plus a clear plan of the property to the Local Land Charges Department. Please refer to Access Guide to the Local Land Charges Register and CON29 Questions for further details.
