Land Allocations
Between 2004 and 2012, Government guidance was that each local authority's planning policies should be split into separate documents, such as Core Strategies, Development Policies and Land Allocations. These documents were collectively termed the Local Development Framework. Following the publication of the National Planning Policy Framework in 2012, the advice now is that planning policies should be contained in a Local Plan, which if possible should be a single document.
North Hertfordshire District Council is therefore now working on a new Local Plan, with a Housing Options consultation taking place in February and March 2013. This web page gives information on the previous consultations that were carried out when we were anticipating having a separate Land Allocations document. The housing sites from both these consultations form part of the Housing Options consultation.
Land Allocations Issues & Options Consultation
The first stage in preparing the Land Allocations document was open for public comment between 24 January and 19 March 2008. The Land Allocations Issues & Options Paper is quite large, so has been broken down into smaller sections.

Between 20 July and 14 September 2009, we held a consultation to find out views on these 126 additional sites. The document is arranged by parish, although not all parishes have had sites suggested.
