If you see graffiti in North Hertfordshire there are a number of channels to report it to. To help with prompt removal of the graffiti, please report it to the correct property owner as detailed below. The Council can deal with some instances of graffiti, for example property owned or managed by the Council, or if it is on private residential or commercial properties we will contact the owners to organise a one-off removal.
You can report it to us using the Report a Problem form, providing the specific location and type of graffiti e.g. tag, words or image. Alternatively you can contact Veolia on 0800 328 6023 with this information.

Once it has been recorded, the graffiti will be prioritised for removal by Council Officers. Removal of graffiti which is of a racist or offensive nature will be given high priority and we aim to remove this as soon as possible.
Before we can proceed with the one-off removal of general graffiti from a private property the property owner will need to complete an Indemnity form (25.6KB) and return it to us at the address below:

Please note that under sections 48, 49, 50 and 52 of the Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003 (as amended) local authorities have the powers to swiftly remove any physical sign of hatred on any property. Graffiti would fall under this. Although we would endeavour to contact the property owner prior to removal, depending on the severity of the graffiti we may remove it regardless of whether we have the agreement of the property owner. We report all incidences of racist graffiti to the Police.
