Reusable nappies

Babies in nappies

What is a reusable nappy?

Reusable or 'real' nappies are made out of cotton and other materials which can be washed and re-used.

Modern reusable nappies:

  • Have no pins
  • Do not need to be boiled
  • Come in all shapes, sizes, colours and materials
  • Are more environmentally friendly (use less resources and save space in landfill sites)
  • Can be free of pesticides and other synthetic chemicals
  • Are cheaper in the long term (can save families up to £600 in nappy costs for the first baby alone but can be used on the next baby)
