How much is my Council Tax for 2008/2009?
A full list of charges can be found on the link below.  This shows the breakdown of the charge and the proportion which is collected for Hertfordshire County Council, Hertfordshire Police Authority, and in some cases the Parish charges.

Do I need to renew my Direct Debit?
No, if your account has not changed you do not need to take any action.  The new instalments indicated on your bill will be taken on the date of the month you have requested.

Do I need a new payment card to use at the Post Office?
No, not unless your account number has changed. Check your account number against the account number number on the bill.

How can I check that the Band is correct?
The Valuation Office Agency set the Band on your property. The Council charge you the Council Tax based on this assessment.

How is my Council Tax spent?
The Council Tax & Performance leaflet (1.54MB) explains the our spending.
A large proportion of the Council Tax is collected for Hertfordshire County Council and Hertfordshire Police Authority.
