Methods of Payment
Council tax is calculated on a daily basis and is payable over ten months starting on the 1st April of each year. Unless paid by Direct Debit each monthly instalment falls due on the 1st of each month. The council offers a comprehensive range of payment methods.
DIRECT DEBIT
is the most cost effective, simple and efficient method of paying your Council Tax. It has many advantages including;
- Not having to remember to make a payment
- Helps you with your budgeting requirements
- Saves you writing cheques
- Saves unnecessary trips to the Post Office
There are four payment dates to choose from: 1st 8th 15th or 25th of the month.

We offer the following guarantees:
- We will advise you of the amounts taken on the date agreed before we take the first payment
- If changes are required, you will be notified at least 14 days in advance
- You can cancel at any time
- If an error is made, your Bank/Building Society is responsible for giving you a full and immediate refund.
