Advertising Boards
It is an offence under the Highways Act 1980 to wilfully obstruct the highway by placing advertising/sign boards on the highway without permission.
A-Boards includes Estate Agent, For Sale signs and shops advertising goods.
All A-Boards should be positioned on private land. If the area is proved to be private land, but is paved for which the public have access, then an offence is being committed if an A-Board is there and causing an obstruction.
A-Boards should be positioned against the property and not causing an obstruction of the highway.
Please refer all A-Board complaints to Hertfordshire County County and Highways (0300 1234 040).
