Microchipping

Microchipping is a means of identifying your dog or cat.

The microchip is roughly the size of a grain of rice that is inserted under the skin above and between the shoulders.  It is an injection and relatively painless.

The microchip holds its own unique number which is held on a central database with the owners details.

The Animal Welfare Officer is able to microchip your dog or cat for a fee of £21.  To microchip any other animal, you will need to contact your vet.

Contact Details

The Animal Welfare Officer can be contacted via the Customer Service Centre on 01462 474000 or at service@north-herts.gov.uk.
