Housing and Environmental Health Statement of Enforcement Policy
The Housing and Environmental Health Service is made up of a number of services which aim to improve people's health and their quality of life. This Service has combined a number of existing policies relating to enforcement into one single document bringing together areas such as Pollution Control, Food Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Pest Control, Enviro-Crime and Private Sector Housing.
The 'Housing and Environmental Health Statement of Enforcement Policy' was adopted by the Council on 1st March 2007 and revised in August 2008. It reflects the Council’s generic Enforcement Policy and has the overriding aim of setting out what businesses or individuals can expect from officers of the Service as they carry out their daily duties. The policy includes an explanation of the various informal and formal actions available to an officer to help achieve our overall goal of protecting the public and the environment.
