Common Housing Register

North Hertfordshire Homes and Howard Cottage Society are the largest landlords of affordable housing in the district.  They have joined together with the Council to form the North Hertfordshire Housing Partnership which is responsible for operating the Common Housing Register.

The Common Housing Register enables applicants to apply for housing with all of these organisations by completing just one application form.

Our aim is to provide access to decent and affordable housing for households of all types where they may otherwise have difficulty in securing their own accommodation.

The leaflets below provide more information about the Common Housing Register and your housing options generally.

Further information about how homes are allocated can be found on the Allocations Scheme page.  It includes details of the five bands that the register is divided into to ensure that those with the most urgent need for accommodation are given the greatest priority.
