Housing Strategy 2004 – 2007
Our most recent Housing Strategy was adopted by the Council in November 2003. This document sets out our plans for the period 2004 – 2007. In producing the Housing Strategy the Council has balanced the national and regional priorities against identified local needs and the priorities of local people. The result of this process is a new strategic vision and six priorities for action to tackle housing issues in North Hertfordshire over the next three years:
Our Vision:
To meet the community’s needs for decent, high quality, affordable homes.
Our Priorities:
- To meet the community’s needs for affordable housing. To improve the quality and choice of homes available to those in need of affordable housing.
- To prevent homelessness by ensuring clear and effective housing advice and to provide good quality services and support to homeless households.
- To ensure that all housing in the district is of a decent standard and contributes to the good health of the community.
- To ensure that high quality supported housing is available for those who need it most and where it is needed most within North Hertfordshire.
- To deliver services that reflect the diversity of the local community.
Work to update the strategy from 2007 is currently underway.
