Disabled Persons Bus Permit
Disabled persons as described under the Transport Act 2000 and living permanently within the North Hertfordshire District Council's boundary.
Disabled Criteria
| a) | Is blind or partially sighted |
| b) | Is profoundly or severely deaf |
| c) | Is without speech |
| d) | Has a disability or suffered an injury, which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on his/her ability to walk |
| e) | Does not have arms or has long-term loss of the use of both arms |
| f) | Has a learning disability from birth, that is, a state of arrested or incomplete development of mind which includes significant impairment of intelligence and social functioning |
| g) | Would, if he/she applied for a licence to drive a motor vehicle, have his/her application refused on grounds of physical fitness other than on the grounds of persistant misuse of drugs or alcohol. |
The above types of disability should be described as permenant or which will last at least 12 months, but unlikely to be permenant.
Documents required
Disabled Persons application form (27.5kb)
Verification Certificate (26.6kb)- One passport sized photograph
- Proof of address, for example Council tax bill, recent utility bill, Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
- Bus permits will take approximately 10 working days to be issued from date of receipt by the Council.
Documents required should be sent by post or brought into the Customer Services Centre, Council Offices, Gernon Road, Letchworth Herts SG6 3JF.
