New National Scheme 2008

The new style of permit is of credit card size incorporating the holders full name and photograph. The new Over 60's permit is valid for 5 years (31st March 2013) so there is no need to renew on an annual basis. Most Disabled permits are also valid for 5 years, but some may only be valid until 31st March 2009.

The permit can be used on off peak bus services (9.30am to 11.00pm and at anytime weekends and bank holidays) throughout England (not Wales or Scotland). The permit is still valid on anyday at anytime within Hertfordshire. Once outside the County of Hertfordshire the National times will apply.

The permit is valid on bus services that, in general, link towns, cities and villages. The bus permit can be used in London (buses only) and on park & ride services (E.g Cambridge).
