Controlled Residents Parking Schemes

The Council operates residents parking schemes throughout the District. Those residents living in streets with permit parking schemes are eligible to purchase permits.

Three types of permit are available

  1. Residents Permit
    Cost £52.00 for 12 months
Residents can purchase a permit for each vehicle registered at their address
  2. Visitor Permit
    Cost £52.00 for 12 months
    Limited to one per household.
Visitor permits are not vehicle specific and can be used for vehicles temporarily visiting the property
  3. Visitor Tickets
Cost £6.50 per book of 10
These are supplied in books of 10 and are for one time use on a calendar day by short term visitors to the property. As many books as required may be purchased.
The user must mark the ticket with the registration number of the visiting vehicle and the date when used. After use the ticket is discarded.

Limitations and Exemptions

Permits and tickets may only be used on motorcycles, cars, light vans and vehicles under 3.5 tonnes gross laden weight only. Permits will not be issued to other vehicles.
A Disabled Persons Permit (Blue Badge) can be used in place of a permit or ticket by the householder or when visiting.

Failure to display a permit or ticket can result in a penalty charge notice. It is the responsibility of the resident to make provisions for all visitors, relatives and tradespeople etc. Undertakers and signed furniture removal vans are exempt.
