Plastic Bottle Banks in North Hertfordshire
If you need to report an overflowing bank please call NHDC on 01462 474000. However, if it is a plastic bottle bank please contact Recresco on 01623 721006 who will arrange for the bank to be emptied.
You can also recycle the same and additional materials free of charge at the County Council's Household Waste Recycling Centres.
These larger recycling sites, run by Herts County Council, have some restrictions on the volumes of some materials accepted into their sites. Please see Waste Aware or call 08457 425000 to check they will accept your material before you make your journey.
We need you to play your part
The recycling plans will only work if you are willing to play your part and recycle as much of your rubbish as you can.
Apart from the environmental benefits, there are other benefits to reaching high levels of recycling. The more we minimise our waste and the more we recycle, the fewer new treatment plants will be needed in Hertfordshire where suitable land is already scarce.
To find out further information on how you can recycle and the national campaign please see Recycle Now.
