How does the waste and recycling service now work?

Your grey bin and brown bin are collected on alternate weeks.  Your recycling boxes are collected with your brown bin.  Every week you will get a collection of either waste or recycling.

Collection information is available on our website or by calling 0800 3286023.

Where there are flats with communal bin facilities, the waste is collected weekly with recycling collections every fortnight.  These will both be collected on the same day of the week.

Please note these booklets were correct at time of printing and distribution.  There have since been changes:

- Brown bins: we can now accept food waste with the garden waste and cardboard

- Black boxes: we can now accept aerosols but can no longer accept foil

Improvements to the kerbside can collection

Aerosols can now be added to your kerbside boxes for recycling to join the cans, tins, glass and paper collected.  Aerosols can be from air fresheners, toiletries, hair spray, polish etc.

Unfortunately the reprocessor is no longer able to take foil from your kerbside boxes. This foil if clean can be put into one of the can banks around the district which go to a different recycler. The can banks can also take aerosols.

For more information on our kerbside collections please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.
