Roadshows
North Herts District Council holds waste minimisation and recycling roadshows at schools on an as and when basis. This season roadshows are fully booked but if you wish your school can still request a display (unmanned) to be placed in your school reception area. This is allocated on a first come first serve basis, so book now by contacting Natalia Rita on 01462 474000.
Competitions
NHDC in partnership with WasteAware has recently funded another education programme in schools, this time for year 8 and 9. The programme consisted of a theatre play (performed by professional theatre group, CragRats), a workshop and a competition, all regarding the 3 R’s (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle). The play was followed by a workshop where pupils had the opportunity to discuss ideas for the competition, with the deadline on 11th June 2007. It was all free of charge to the schools and the prizes are £1000 for the winning school, £500 for second prize and £250 for third prize. The winner will be announced in the early Summer.
