Out of School Play and Sport

The Children's Services Team provide and support a range of out of school play and sports opportunities.  The following play and sport opportunities are currently available:

October half term 2008

A programme of play and sports activities will take place during October half term 2008.  Details will be confirmed at the end of September and posted on the website.

Burns Road Hang Out

A play / youth club for 8-12 year olds at Coombes Community Centre operates Tuesdays 4.30-6.30pm during term time.

Friday play sessions at St John's Community Centre, Hitchin

Run in partnership between the Caldicott Centre Play Support Project and St John's Community Association.

An after school open access play/youth club runs from St John's Community Centre, St John's Road, Hitchin.  The club provides a range of play opportunities including art and crafts, outdoor play, sports, games, games consoles, pool table and a tuck shop.

5 - 8 year olds: 5.30 - 7pm

9 - 14 year olds: 7.30 - 9pm

A 50p entrance fee is charged which supports the Community Centre to provide the venue and resources for the club.

Purwell Stay & Play Sessions

Run in partnership between the Community Play Programme, Caldicott Centre Play Support Project and Purwell Primary School.

Open to 4-11 year olds (currently attending Purwell school) the club will provide a range of play opportunities including arts and crafts, outdoor play, sports, games, games consoles and much more.  For more information, visit the Stay and Play Club page.
