North Herts Play Partnership

We believe in every child’s right to play

The North Herts Play Partnership is a range of public, voluntary and private organisations who are committed to improving play opportunities for children.  Any organisation supporting children’s play can become a member.  Our current membership includes schools, playgroups and nurseries, after school and holiday clubs and representatives for the District Council, National Childminders Association, Children’s Centres and Extended School’s Consortia.

The main aims of the Play Partnership are:

  • To identify areas in the District where play opportunities are needed and work together to meet children’s play needs.
  • To identify resources and support for new and existing initiatives.
  • To support playworkers and other professionals working in children’s play.

Meetings:

The Play Partnership held it’s first 2007 meeting on Wednesday 23rd May.  Members of the Partnership agreed that the most effective way to take the Partnership forward was to establish a virtual partnership that communicated via a web blog and e-newsletters.  When opportunities to work together are identified, members may choose to organise smaller meetings around particular projects.

Newsletters:

The Play Partnership produces a quarterly newsletter packed with information about local and national play initiatives.  All members are welcome to contribute to the newsletter by contacting the Play Partnership Co-ordinator.
