Youth Clubs and Activities
North Hertfordshire District Council works in partnership with a range of organisations to develop opportunities for young people by providing guidance and support through our Community Development Team. A grant funding scheme is available for organisations involved in the provision of activities for young people.
We are not responsibile for the provision and delivery of youth clubs and activities for young people. This is the statutory duty of Hertfordshire County Council. For more information on youth provision run by the County Youth Service visit the Hertsdirect pages.
Participation and Engagment
We believe that it is essential for young people to have a say in services affecting them and for their opinions to be listened to by decision makers. Our Community Development Team support this in a range of ways:
Youth Question Time
On Wednesday 15th October 2008, the third Youth Question Time will take place at The Priory School, Hitchin. Based on the popular TV show, Youth Question Time provides young people with the opportunity to put their questions to a panel of local Councillors and service providers. All secondary schools within North Hertfordshire have been invited to bring a group of young people. Last year's event in Letchworth saw discussions around health, the environment, activities, housing and transport.
