Health and Safety

The British Construction Industry employs over 2 million people making it our largest industry. It is also responsible for one third of work related fatalities. In the last 25 years, over 2,800 people have died and many more have been injured or fallen ill.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) produces, promotes and enforces ways in which to make our industry safer. For a wide range of information, relating to all aspects of health and safety, please see Health and Safety Executive
