Local Development Scheme (LDS)

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) is the timetable for preparing the Council's planning policy documents. Collectively, these documents are called the Local Development Framework. The Local Development Scheme must be approved by the Government Office for the East of England This link opens in a new browser window (GO-East). North Hertfordshire's most recent LDS was approved by GO-East in December 2009.

The timetable within this document is now unlikely to be met in relation to the Stevenage and North Hertfordshire Action Plan (SNAP), the next draft of which is now anticipated to be published for consultation later in Summer 2010. Consequently, the Core Strategy and Development Policies Pre-Submission Drafts are unlikely to be published until the very end of 2010, with the next draft of the Land Allocations being early 2011.
