Local Development Scheme (LDS)
The Local Development Scheme (LDS) is the timetable for preparing the Council's planning policy documents. Collectively, these documents are called the Local Development Framework. The Local Development Scheme must be approved by the Government Office for the East of England
(GO-East). North Hertfordshire's most recent LDS was approved by GO-East in December 2009.

The timetable within this document is now under review, following the decision by North Hertfordshire District Council's Cabinet on 15 June 2010 not to proceed with the SNAP document pending further guidance from the new Government on how housing and employment needs are to be assesed in future following the abolition of Regional Strategies. In light of this decision, the timetable for all planning policy documents being produced may be affected.
