Luton Area Action Plan

This document will only be prepared if technical work carried out as part of the Luton & South Bedfordshire Core Strategy establishes that it is necessary for land in North Hertfordshire to be developed in order to meet the requirements of the Milton Keynes and South Midlands Sub-Regional Strategy.  It will give detailed guidance on the protection of green belt and possible development of urban extensions to Luton.  It will be prepared in consultation with Luton Borough Council and South Bedfordshire District Council.

We do not currently envisage starting work on this until 2008 to allow for technical work to establish whether there is a need for land in North Hertfordshire to be included in the growth of Luton.
