Making a Listed Building Consent application

Applying for Listed Building Consent

There are two ways of applying for listed building consent.

You can either make an application for both planning permission and listed building (55.1KB) consent on one application form or simply apply for listed building consent (512KB).  There is no fee for submitting a listed building consent application.

How do we deal with your application?

Information on how all aspects of your application are dealt with can be found in the Planning Control and Conservation Service Charter.

What if works are done without consent?

When a building is listed, it is a criminal offence to carry out works that affect its architectural or historic character without the approval of the District Council.  You could be liable to prosecution and/or be made to rectify what you have done.  The maximum penalty can include unlimited fines or imprisonment.
