Computer Data

Passwords

The more characters a password has the better security will be achieved.  This can also be increased by using a mixture of alpha / numeric.  Be prepared to change passwords frequently and ensure that staff do not share their password with anyone.  A hard to guess password is obviously the best.

Back-ups

Always back-up your computer data on a regular basis to ensure loss of valuable computer data is minimised.  It is always good practice to keep a version of your backed-up information on site.

Employee Access

Access to files should be limited to employees that require them.  This will add to the security of your systems.

Employee Training

Ensure that your employees that use I.T. facilities know how to use it.  This will avoid information accidentally being deleted or lost.
