Families and Friends
Contacts
Ensure that you have a contact list of family and friends for each of your employees. This can include telephone numbers, addresses, e-mail addresses etc. This will enable you to communicate with families should it be necessary during an emergency. The wellbeing of your staff is paramount during a major incident and providing information about families and friends will ensure your company is able to “get back to work” quickly.
Initial Advice During An Emergency
You should develop methods of providing information, advice and support to family and friends of your staff particularly if you require your staff to work outside normal hours to help your company recover. Advice and support to family and friends at this point will relieve the stress and anxiety that your staff may experience and also help any difficulties experienced by the family and friends during this time. You should also provide updates at regular intervals.
