Communications Officer - Part Time


Communications Officer (Temporary contract – 10 months)

Salary starting from £20,772 per annum  (£8,421pro rata)

15 hours per week (Mondays and Tuesdays)

North Hertfordshire is a diverse district with four towns and surrounding rural communities. It has recently been featured as one of the top 20 places in the country to live. We provide a diverse range of services to residents including waste and recycling collection, leisure centres, car parks, planning, benefits administration and housing advice to name but a few.

Our 125,000 residents expect us to deliver value for money services and as such we are looking for a dedicated, proactive communications professional who can effectively communicate what we are doing, why we are doing it and how we are delivering on our promises.  

As part of our small communications team you will be responsible for:

•Liaising with media

•Drafting press releases and articles for a range of publications

•Internal communications

To do this successfully you will have at least two years press office or related experience and be:

•An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing

•Confident with IT systems

•Assertive and confident when dealing with colleagues and external organisations

•A team player
