David Lowther – Recent Work at Hitchin Museum
23 January 2012
From 10 March to 21 April, Hitchin Museum is proud to present an exhibition of recent photographic work by David Lowther.
David’s recent work is based around open and closed forms, often doors and windows, and is essentially concerned with creating balance and imbalance through the use of heightened colour in abstracted compositions. Ambiguous shapes intrude, block out, float across, enclose and contrast each other on an animated surface of differing marks and gestures.
Dave trained at Luton, Nottingham and Goldsmiths Colleges of Art and taught in Bedfordshire for 25 years.
There will be a chance to meet David for a question and answer session on 17 March, from 10am – 12 midday.
Hitchin Museum is open from 10am - 5pm daily (except Wed and Sun).
