Bin collections suspended (updated Thursday 28 January)

Bins covered in snow

PR Date: Monday, 25 January 2021 - 9:30am

Update 28 Jan: Our bin crews are aiming to complete all missed collections by the end of Friday 29 January, so please continue to leave your bin out for collection. Thank you for your continued patience.

Update 26 Jan: Most bins due for collection today were collected, however icy road conditions continue to cause some delays. Our bin crews will continue catching up on collections that were unsafe to make today (Tuesday) and Monday over the next two days.

Please continue to leave your bins out for collection and we will get to them as soon as possible.

Update 25 Jan, 5pm: From tomorrow (26 Jan) bin crews will be catching up on collections that were unsafe to make today. Please leave your bins out for collection and we will aim to empty them over the next few days.

Please check your bin lids aren’t frozen shut and that the contents remain loose. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

25 Jan, 9am: Due to the snow and icy conditions, all bin collection services have been suspended today (Monday 25 January). This includes refuse, recycling, garden waste and food waste collections.

We will provide an update later today on when collections will resume.

Icy weather can cause bin lids and their contents to freeze, so they cannot be emptied. If you can, please loosen the lid before the collection vehicles arrive. This will help ensure your bin is emptied.
