Careline provides vital reassurance and assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to the elderly, disabled and vulnerable.
We are looking for Careline Operators to join our existing team, providing a calls handling service to people using the Herts Careline Service.
The main duties of this post are the operation of the communications equipment, offering reassurance and arranging an appropriate response to client emergencies over the telephone; monitoring and progressing calls from other Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Charitable Organisations, and the processing of out of hours repairs calls for several Housing Associations.
A genuine caring and sympathetic attitude towards the elderly, disabled and vulnerable, and the ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations is essential. You will need to have good computer skills, a clear speaking voice and a commitment to provide a high quality customer orientated service.
Those roles stated with dedicated hours will be on a rota pattern and will typically involve working variable shifts including Bank Holidays, Christmas Day, Nights and Weekends. Shifts Patterns are between 5 and 8 Hours in length starting at 07:00, 08:00, 15:00 and 23:00 Hrs. The Zero hours bank will have shifts allocated to you a month in advance, covering all the above shift patterns. You will therefore need a flexible approach to working patterns which may be advised at short notice.
