Book a vehicle compliance test
You must book a compliance test for your licensed vehicle (when you apply for or renew your vehicle licence) in advance of the plate expiry date during the month the plate ends.
Vehicle compliance testing takes place on the third and fourth Wednesdays of the month.
Compliance tests currently take place on the top floor (or in cold/icy/wet weather the floor below) of Letchworth Multi-Story Car Park.
If you believe your vehicle may not be able to enter the car park due to its size, please email the licensing team to arrange an alternative location.
Licensing policy
- 3.6.7 Any Compliance Test must be dated no earlier than two (2) calendar months prior to the licence commencement date.
- 3.6.8 The licence of any vehicle which fails its testing requirements (MOT or CT) will be automatically suspended until such time as the vehicle has been re-examined and the necessary pass certificates obtained. The Council may retain the vehicle licence plate until such time as the inspection requirements are met.
- 3.6.9 Failure to attend a CT appointment in accordance with section 3.6.6 above will also result in suspension until such time as a CT pass has been obtained.
