The role

You’ll play a pivotal role in developing end to end digital processes and services within our multi-disciplinary Digital Services team, who are passionate about making positive changes here at North Herts Council. Your knowledge and expertise will help us to implement new digital services that meet the needs of our customers and staff, enhancing the overall experience and efficiency of the Council’s services.

The experience you will bring

Some of the key responsibilities of this role, include:

  • Deploying digital solutions that improve customer interactions across various Council services.
  • Fostering strong relationships with Council services and partners to identify and design innovative service solutions.
  • Conducting business process reviews to streamline customer journeys for digitisation.
  • Collaborating with customer-facing services to deliver seamless, intuitive digital experiences.
  • Gathering and analyse data to support the development and testing of digital solutions.
  • Creating specifications for digital solutions that enhance customer journeys.
  • Staying abreast of emerging technologies to continuously improve our digital offerings.
  • Managing the deployment of digital solutions, ensuring stakeholder engagement throughout the process.
  • Leveraging our low-code digital platform for cost-effective, impactful solutions.

To excel in this role, you would ideally have:

• Existing skills, or a good understanding of API integrations
• A good level of knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript or other coding languages
• Knowledge of low-code digital platforms
• Existing skills, or a good understanding of information architecture
• Knowledge of structured database design, and/or proficiency in excel
• Experience of working in an agile and iterative manner

Further training and development will be provided in these areas, but a level of understanding and a desire to learn more in these areas will be beneficial.
